Released unthinkingly out into the open
Words, feelings, beliefs, judgements
Typed into our brains without our permission
I want to hear your story and understand your perspective
Learn from each position so that we can be effective
But in such times as these we must separate fact from fiction
Make sure that our truth is something we truly believe in
Remember an opinion is not based on concrete knowledge
People have agendas, and that we must acknowledge
So i’ll respect your viewpoint if it is respectful of mine
Lets use our energy to support not undermine
When you write your prejudice, know each target has a mother
Instead of wanting to be heard, try and listen to another
You’ll always have a voice but you don’t always have to use it
Of course you’re free to speak, it’s a right but don’t abuse it
Speak your mind, do you need to speak your mind?
Coz I find, make a mistake it’s hard to rewind
[Listening and reading, absorbing and thinking
these thoughts that are not mine
Shouting and crying, you’re blaming and lying
from scrolling all of the time]
Yes I can see that you’re angry, but you’ve just crossed the line
Condemning other people will not help you make this right
Only you...

Learn to be kind teach your inner child
can teach your inner child how to grow into the wise
Don’t feed those feral kids, they’ll only run a muck and spread more pain and lies
Teach your inner child to behave and comprise
Don’t feed those feral kids, because you know they’ll only grow in size
They’ll grow to hurt you, they’ll grow to hurt us
And they’re changing our minds
Speaking, and listening, and writing and reading
These thoughts that you do not believe
And we’re loosing our minds
Free yourself

Think about what you put out in this world
Don’t feed those feral kids, teach your inner child
Please don’t believe all that you have been told
